Collection: House of Angostura

Angostura bitters were created by Dr Johann Siegert, a German surgeon in Simón Bolívar's army, who began selling them in 1824 in the town of Angostura in Venezuela. In 1875 his sons moved production to Port of Spain, Trinidad, where the House of Angostura still makes them today. The famous oversized label shows a medal won at the 1873 Vienna World's Fair.

We stock the classic Dr. Siegert's Aromatic Bitters, the Orange Bitters and the Cocoa Bitters, made with Trinidad's Trinitario cocoa. The house also makes rum, and we stock Angostura 1787, a 15-year-old rum from Trinidad & Tobago.

Find Angostura in our shop on the Vismarkt in Utrecht, or order online.
