Zacapa & Botran (Guatemala)

Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala makes two of Guatemala's best-known rums, Zacapa and Botran, both starting from sugarcane from the Tululá sugar mill. Zacapa was created in 1976 to mark the 100th anniversary of the town of Zacapa. It is made from concentrated cane syrup, "miel de caña", aged in a solera system at 2,300 metres above sea level. Diageo has held a 50% stake since 2011.
