A rare and aromatic white from one of Greece's most forward-thinking estates. Domaine Skouras Salto Mavrofilero is crafted from Mavrofilero — an indigenous Greek grape variety of ancient origin, grown in the Peloponnese and prized for its delicate floral character and natural freshness.
Despite its name ("mavro" meaning dark, referring to the grape's pinkish skin), Mavrofilero produces a pale, aromatic white wine of real elegance. Domaine Skouras, founded by Georges Skouras in Nemea, has been a driving force in the renaissance of Greek fine wine since the 1980s, combining international winemaking expertise with a deep respect for indigenous varieties and local terroir.
The Salto is vinified to preserve the grape's natural aromatics: expect a pale golden wine with lifted aromas of rose petal, peach, citrus zest, and subtle spice. The palate is light to medium-bodied, refreshing and precise, with a clean, dry finish that makes it an exceptionally versatile food wine.
