Named after the 18th-century outlaw Jan de Lichte from Velzeke — the bandit who inspired Louis Paul Boon's novel De bende van Jan de Lichte — this is a Belgian wheat beer with character to match its namesake. Brewed since 2005 in Mere (Erpe-Mere), it pours a pale straw-gold with a hazy, top-fermented body and a deceptively bold 7% ABV.
