Juicy & Wild — Dark Fruit Lambic from Belgium
Black Belle is a spontaneously fermented fruit lambic from Lambiek Fabriek, a celebrated Belgian brewery based in Lot, just south of Brussels. Lambiek Fabriek specialises in traditional lambic production — beers fermented entirely by wild yeasts and bacteria from the Senne valley air, without any added yeast. The result is a beer of extraordinary complexity, acidity, and character.
Black Belle blends aged lambic with blackcurrants (cassis), creating a deep, dark ruby beer that is simultaneously tart, fruity, and wild. The blackcurrant adds a lush, jammy depth to the lambic's natural acidity, while the wild fermentation brings earthy, funky complexity that no cultivated yeast could replicate. Labelled "Juicy & Wild" — and it delivers on both counts.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby-purple colour. Nose: intense blackcurrant, wild funk, and a hint of oak. Palate: tart and juicy, with rich dark fruit, earthy lambic character, and a long, dry, refreshingly acidic finish.
