Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky is South Africa’s pioneering single grain whisky, distilled entirely from locally grown yellow maize at the James Sedgwick Distillery in Wellington. Named in tribute to Andrew Geddes Bain, the engineer behind the Bainskloof Pass, this expression fuses heritage, innovation, and regional pride. Aged initially for three years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, followed by an additional 18–30 months in fresh bourbon casks, this whisky delivers rich, layered flavours. Expect aromas of grapefruit peel, custard cream, vanilla sugar, and nutmeg.

On the palate, enjoy banana, pear, honey, and subtle spice with a soft, rounded finish.
