Latitude #5 by Brouwerij Homeland
The fifth installment in Homeland's celebrated wild beer series — and one of their most adventurous. Latitude #5 is a wild ale that has ripened on white wine barrels for a year and a half, built on a base of aromatic wheat beer with pineapple added during fermentation. The bottle-conditioning sugar is infused with freshly ground pink peppercorns, adding a spiced, aromatic kick to an already complex beer.
The result is fresh and sunny with tropical fruit character, a funky wild ale backbone, and a peppery finish that lingers. Brouwerij Homeland works exclusively with wild and mixed fermentation, and the Latitude series showcases the full range of what Amsterdam's terroir can produce.
