The Boulevardier was created in 1920s Paris by Erskine Gwynne — an American expat and publisher of the Boulevardier magazine — and immortalised in Harry MacElhone's Barflies and Cocktails at the legendary Harry's Bar. It's the Negroni's bourbon-drinking cousin, and one of the great classic cocktails.
