Collection: Amrut Distilleries

Amrut Distilleries was founded in Bangalore in 1948 by J.N. Radhakrishna Rao Jagdale. Its single malt made its debut in Scotland in August 2004, and put Indian whisky on the map.

India's heat makes whisky mature fast: Amrut loses around 11–12% a year to the angels' share, against about 2% in Scotland. Its master blender reckons a year in cask in India equals about three in Scotland.

We stock the Amrut Single Malt, Peated, Cask Strength, Intermediate Sherry and Bagheera, plus Fusion, which Jim Murray ranked the third-best whisky in the world in 2010.

Find Amrut in our shop on the Vismarkt in Utrecht, or order online.
