Amrut Indian Single Malt Whisky Cask Strength is exactly what it says on the bottle: a full-strength, uncut expression of Amrut's classic house style, bottled at a commanding 61.8% ABV. No water added, no chill filtration — just pure, concentrated Indian single malt in its most powerful form.

Made from 100% Indian barley at Amrut Distilleries in Bangalore, this is the same spirit that made Amrut famous on the world stage, but with all the intensity and complexity that dilution would otherwise tame. The classic Amrut character — glorious bourbon notes, rich barley, and spice — is here in full, vivid force.

Tasting notes:
Nose: Classic house style with glorious bourbon notes fused with the richest of barley statements; not entirely unlike caramelised biscuit dunked in coffee; oh, and a bit of spicy attitude, too.
Taste: There we go with that unique bitter-sweet overture where the oaks and barley appear joined at the hip; lovely soft oils and then a sharp jolt of blood orange citrus, which is removed by something more buttery and delicate.
Finish: Long, elegant with the most intricate of fades with the oaks showing various bourbon then buttery characteristics; there is a trace of dark sugar and cocoa to help it along its way.

• With a few drops of water to open up the nose and tame the proof
