Akashi Meisei Deluxe Sherry Cask

Akashi Meisei Deluxe is a richer, bolder take on White Oak Distillery's Meisei blend, from the coastal town of Akashi near Kobe. A 50/50 blend of malt and grain whisky, it is matured in American oak before a final year in sherry casks, and bottled at 50% ABV.

Nose: white chocolate, honeyed fruit, orange oil and chocolate-covered raisins.
Palate: toffee, prunes, candied nuts and cinnamon over buttery vanilla and drying oak spice.
Finish: long, with figs, dates, candied fruit and a dusting of cocoa.

A Japanese whisky for sherry lovers, best sipped neat.
