Miyakanbai (Kanbai Shuzo)

Miyakanbai is the sake of Kanbai Shuzo, a family brewery founded in 1918 in Furukawa, Osaki, in rural Miyagi north of Sendai. The family grows its own rice in the paddies around the brewery, and its motto is "to know the rice is to know the sake". The brewery was badly damaged in the 2011 earthquake and rebuilt with the help of the local community.

We stock the Junmai Daiginjo and Junmai Ginjo, plus two fruit sakes: the Yuzu Sake, made with organic yuzu from Umaji Village in Kochi, and the Ume Sake.
