The Quintessence of Amaro — Born in Friuli
Born in Friuli, a borderland and crossroads of Roman, Arabian, Celtic, Venetian, and Slavic cultures, Amaro Nonino Quintessentia® is the result of the Nonino alchemic art — enriched by centuries of cultural contamination and great knowledge of botanical varieties from near and far, including exotic lands.
The name Quintessentia® was chosen to celebrate the alchemic achievement of the purest essence in the generation passage of the family recipe. The Bowl of Hygeia at the top and centre of the label honours the origin of Amaro, historically born as a medicinal remedy.
At its heart is ÙE®, Nonino Grape Distillate — craft distilled using a discontinuous process with head and tail cutting in copper steam stills, then aged in barriques for a minimum of 12 months. This exceptional base is then blended with a quintessence of herbs, creating an amaro that is elegant, balanced, and extraordinarily aromatic. 100% vegetal, all natural ingredients, and vegan friendly.
Tasting notes: Amber in colour. The nose is elegant with an extraordinary scent of herbs, warm spice, and a hint of vanilla from the barrique ageing. On the palate: beautifully balanced — bittersweet, complex, and smooth, with a long, warming herbal finish.
