Kalkwijck

Kalkwijck is a small, family-run distillery in Twente, in the east of the Netherlands. It makes genever in small batches with a malt wine base of malted barley, alongside a handful of liqueurs, with a farmhouse approach to Dutch distilling.

The Jonge Genever (50cl and 70cl) is soft and clean with gentle juniper, great chilled or in a kopstootje with a pils. The Graan Genever leans into grain and malt, and the 5-year Oude Genever is a single-cask release matured in an Oloroso sherry cask, rich with dried fruit and toasted oak.

For something sweeter, try the Koffie Likorette or the warming Honing-Gember (honey and ginger) liqueur, both in handy 20cl bottles.
