Sichuan Baijiu by Ming River
The most consumed spirit in the world — and one of the least known outside China. Ming River Sichuan Baijiu is your introduction to one of humanity's oldest and most complex distilling traditions, produced at Luzhou Laojiao — Sichuan's oldest distillery, operating continuously since 1573.
Made from fermented sorghum and aged in earthenware jars, Ming River belongs to the strong aroma (浓香) category of baijiu — known for its fruity, layered complexity. Think tropical fruit like a rum, spice like a mezcal, and the powerful finish of a mature whisky. Yet baijiu is entirely its own thing, shaped by deep fermentation and a unique starter culture called qu.
