Emishiki “Monsoon” Kijoshu Sake

Emishiki “Monsoon” Kijoshu is a rich and refined sake from Shiga Prefecture, brewed by Emishiki Brewery using Yamadanishiki rice milled to 50%. This kijoshu-style sake replaces part of the brewing water with sake during fermentation, resulting in a plush texture and elevated sweetness. On the nose, expect tropical aromas of apricot, mango, banana and honeydew melon with soft floral undertones and silky rice‑umami.

On the palate, the mouthfeel is lush and layered—notes of caramel, tropical fruit, root beer and maple syrup fuse with a gentle acidity and long, velvety finish. At around 17% ABV and polished to a high standard, it offers an indulgent dessert‑style experience or a standout pairing for bold cheeses, foie gras or smoked duck.
