Alipus is a collaborative mezcal project by Grupo Los Danzantes, working with traditional Zapotec mezcalero families across Oaxaca. The San Juan del Río expression is produced by maestro mezcalero Alberto Morales in the village of San Juan del Río — a community with deep mezcal-making roots and a distinctive terroir.

Made from 100% Espadín agave, roasted in an earthen pit oven, fermented with wild yeasts and double-distilled in copper pot stills. The result is a classic, expressive Oaxacan mezcal with smoke, fruit and earthy complexity.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Roasted agave, light smoke, tropical fruit, citrus, earthy minerals
• Palate: Smooth and full-bodied, cooked agave sweetness, gentle smoke, pepper, dried fruit
